How Do I Travel With Invisalign? | Oldham Orthodontics

Invisalign aligners need to be cared for properly, even when on holiday or traveling. In this week’s blog, we will discuss tips on caring for your Invisalign and keeping them clean whilst on holiday.

Tip 1: Dental care pack

When you’re traveling, or just out and about, keeping a dental care kit is a great way to make sure you have everything you need to clean your teeth and aligners. You will need a miniature toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss and interdental brushes. Taking this kit with you is perfect if you plan on having a meal out or a snack during the day.

Tip 2: Bring plenty of Orthodontic wax

When you go away, especially if it is abroad there’s always the risk of your aligners rubbing your gums and cheeks and possibly even snapping. While we can’t treat you when you’re out of the country, you will need a way to avoid the pain and discomfort until you come in for treatment. You will thank yourself for stocking up on orthodontic wax before your trip as it does help.

Tip 3: Bring a spare aligner

It isn’t uncommon for people to lose their belongings on holiday, so there is a risk of your Invisalign going missing. Make sure you pack a previous set of aligners as well as the ones you are wearing now, just in case you lose this pair. If not, there is a risk your teeth will move back to how they were before you started treatment.

Tip 4: Use your Invisalign case

Invisalign is most likely to get lost if kept anywhere that’s not their case when you’re not wearing them. So if you’re out for a meal or by the pool make sure when they’re not in their case, your aligners are in your mouth.

That’s all our tips which we hope will help you whilst you're traveling and on holiday. If you have any queries about caring for your Invisalign aligners before you go away, then make sure to get in touch with us on 0161 768 0931 and we’ll be able to give you the advice you need.
